Biography
Carlos Fernando Quiroga Ruiz (Cali, Colombia, 1990) is an Electronic engineer specializing in space systems. His work spans satellite platforms, satellite communications, Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS), radar technology development, electronic instrumentation, digital signal processing (DSP), and machine learning (ML). He contributed to the mission analysis and feasibility study of the 3U CubeSat LeoPar for the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC). He has developed software-defined radio (SDR) and IoT instrumentation for environmental sensing and ionospheric studies, integrating sensors, RF front-ends, and end-to-end data-processing chains. In 2024–2025 he collaborated with the Satellite Communications and Networking Laboratory (SCNL) at the University of Genoa on cybersecurity and RF fingerprinting for space links.
He is currently a Ph.D. student at SCNL, where he researches DSP/ML techniques for transmitter identification and link protection.
